SlimTech glazing has been designed for use in a wide range of applications, for example in Georgian frames to replace single glazing or for use in modern UPVC frames.
With energy saving being the priority, our range can offer the same U-Value (heat retention) to glazing used in modern commercial buildings whilst maintaining an incredibly narrow glazing depth; easily satisfying required building standards.
Energy Saving
SlimTech double glazing is able to retain a minimum of 29.4% more heat than that of single glazing and our ‘Elite’ range can retain up to a massive 31.58% more heat than conventional double glazing currently being installed into homes and commercial properties.
Quality Guaranteed
SlimTech & SlimTech Elite are fully dual sealed to industry sealant depths unlike other similar products on the market; we therefore apply a full 5 Year warranty to our entire range.
A Clear Choice
Allowing daylight into a building is important, as is the quality of appearance. SlimTech units use state-of-the-art glasses that offer a light transmission in excess of 80% which is 6% greater than conventional double glazing and all glasses consist of incredibly neutral coatings that do not tint the glass normally giving a slightly grey appearance.
Product Range
Choosing your ideal SlimTech product is easy using the matrix below,
Example:
SlimTech 12 A
SlimTech 12 (unit thickness) A (Product Specification)
'A' Standard unit specification
'A-Plus' Higher performance standard specification
‘Safety’ Allows the unit specification to be used in Critical Glazing areas
‘HP’ This state’s if the
SlimTech specification consists of a HP Glass that is
designed to stop heat
from entering through the unit. For more details see High Performance Solar Control in our product
information section.
‘Vintage’ Uses a
special hand drawn glass that is widely used in conservation projects.
This glass is ideal to
give a true authentic appearance.
Use in Critical Glazing Areas:
This state’s if the particular product can be used in Critical Areas, where safety glass is legally required. If you are unsure about these areas please download our ‘Critical Glazing’ PDF on the SlimTech Technical Support page or contact our support team for advice.
Centre Pane U-Value:
An industry used measurement for heat loses. The lower the number the better as this signifies better heat retention i.e. 1.5 is better than 1.9.
Light Transmission:
This is the measurement of light allowed through the glazing unit, the higher the number the more light.
High Performance Solar Control:
This state’s if the SlimTech specification consists of a HP Glass that is designed to stop heat from entering through the unit; ideal for conservatories or areas that do not have air conditioning. For more details see High Performance Solar Control in our product information section.
Low Emissivity:
This state’s if the SlimTech specification consists of Low E glass that is designed to retain heat within a building. For more details see Low Emissivity Glazing in our product information section.
Non-Reflective:
This state’s if the SlimTech specification consists of a Low Reflective glass, this is idea to minimise the external reflection of the glass. This can often give the impression that the building is single glazed; ideal in conservation areas.
